Overview

In May 2025, Vietnam exported $16B and imported $1.26B from United States, resulting in a positive trade balance of $14.7B. Between May 2024 and May 2025 the exports of Vietnam to United States increased by $4.67B (41.3%) from $11.3B to $16B, while imports increased by $363M (40.4%) from $900M to $1.26B.

Trade

In May 2025, the top exports of Vietnam to United States were Computers ($3.51B), Telephones ($2.33B), and Office Machine Parts ($835M).

In May 2025, the main imports of Vietnam from United States were Integrated Circuits ($137M), Raw Cotton ($133M), and Telephones ($78.3M).

Growth

In May 2025, the year-on-year growth in Vietnam's exports to United States was driven mainly by exports of Computers ($2B or 133%), Telephones ($1.25B or 115%), and Office Machine Parts ($340M or 68.5%). Meanwhile, in the same month, the rise in Vietnam's imports from United States was mainly attributed to imports of Raw Cotton ($88M or 196%), Rough Wood ($51.7M or 455%), and Hydrogen ($27M or 119%).
